De teak tafel in onze kuip zat vol met oude, diep ingetrokken vetvlekken. Zon en zout water zouden helpen, maar hier kon niemand tegenop. Dus tijd voor de volgende klus: Project Kuiptafel.

Ik begon met schoonmaken met Groene Zeep, daarna schuren en met de hulp van Google kwam ik op een tip: thinner. Dus herhaaldelijk de vlekken ingesmeerd met thinner en laten drogen en -warempel- de vlekken verdwenen!! Bij de eerste laag met Epifanes Yachtcoatings zag ik een fantastische tafel tevoorschijn komen.

Maar, ik was er nog niet. Deze bescherming is pas echt sterk na 4 lagen coating. Daarna ook nog even de ‘voordeur’ meegenomen in het project. Ik had eigenlijk ‘voor en na’ foto’s moeten maken, maar jullie moeten mij maar op mijn woord geloven: het project is geslaagd!

Teak Table Renaissance

Our cockpit table was full of deep and old grease stains and had no protection layer. The sun did not make the grease disappear, so time for the next chore: project cockpit table.

I started cleaning and sanding, and with the help of a repetitive thinner wash the grease vanished. After sanding one more time and the first layer of Epifanes Yachtcoatings Rapidcoat is making the our table look super chique again!!

Not finished yet…still 4 layers to go for optimal protection against the traces of all the delicious meals that will be eaten at that table!

I should have made the before and after pictures to prove it, but you have to believe me: the renaissance was a succes!
